About me

My coaching practice is built on 25 years of business experience: as a strategy consultant for Fortune 500 companies, a founding partner of two businesses, and a board member for several mid-sized firms. I've seen leadership from every angle, including the angles nobody posts about on LinkedIn, the bad hires you can't fire fast enough, the deals that fall apart, the moment when you're the only person in the room who doesn't know what to do. I've seen leadership from every angle, including the angles nobody posts about on LinkedIn, the bad hires you can't fire fast enough, the deals that fall apart, the moment when you're the only person in the room who doesn't know what to do. I got certified as an executive coach through the International Coach Academy and built my practice around the specific challenges that come with being in charge: isolation, ambiguity, the gap between strategic knowledge and operational reality. I'm practical to a fault, which sometimes frustrates clients who want to talk about feelings before addressing systems. But what I've learned is that most executives don't need more emotional processing, they need clearer thinking and better questions. I'm based in Boston, I'm a former competitive chess player, and I still think in terms of moves and counter-moves. Show less

How I can help

We work on the real problems that don't fit in a leadership training seminar: navigating impossible decisions, managing boards and stakeholders without losing yourself in the process, building organizational cultures that actually function, transitioning from operator to visionary when you've been too busy fighting fires to look at the map. I bring the perspective of someone who's been in the room, not someone who's read about it. My clients are typically CEOs, founders, and senior executives who don't have time for coaching that doesn't deliver. You'll get straight talk, challenging questions, and strategic frameworks that hold up in the real world. One client, a founder-CEO, used our work to successfully sell his company after five years of avoiding the transition. Another, an executive at a global manufacturer, reorganized a 300-person division and actually changed the culture instead of just the org chart. If you want a thinking partner who's been in the arena, let's talk. Show less
