Most women shopping for training want to know if an online program is legitimate, whether a psychology degree is required, and whether the course will prepare them for a real hour with a client.
What life coach certification means
There is no single national standard. "Certified life coach" usually means you finished a provider's training and received their certificate. Quality depends on what they taught and how much practice you got.
Some programs align with ICF hour requirements if you want ICF membership later. Others, including Coachivas, focus on session skills without ICF accreditation. Both are legal. They are different bets on what you need this year.
On a first call, clients rarely ask for credentials. They ask whether you understand the problem, whether they feel safe, and whether they leave with a next step. Training should prepare you for that hour.
Do you need a degree, a license, or ICF accreditation?
No. In the US you can call yourself a life coach without a degree, a state license, or an ICF credential. Background in HR, nursing, teaching, or leadership can help a niche. None of it is required to start.
