Why Does My Identity Change as I Get Older?
Maybe nothing is obviously wrong. You have a life you worked hard to build - a career, relationships...
The Work I Do: Helping People Find Clarity, Confidence and Their Inner Compass
There are moments in life when nothing is necessarily “wrong,” yet something doesn’t feel right.
You may have a good career but feel disconnected from it. You may be successful professionally but constantly question yourself. You may be struggling with relationships, boundaries, confidence, difficult workplace situations, or an important decision that you simply cannot seem to make.
Sometimes, the problem isn't that we don't have answers.
It is that we are so caught up in the noise that we cannot hear our own answers clearly.
This is where my work as a Life and Leadership Coach begins.
From Corporate Life to Coaching
For more than 15 years, I worked in the corporate world across Trade Finance and Treasury, working closely with businesses, leaders, banks, transactions, negotiations, deadlines and decisions.
Corporate life taught me a great deal about responsibility, pressure, performance and leadership. But over time, I became increasingly curious about something beyond processes and numbers:
What actually drives the decisions people make?
Why do some people remain stuck even when they have opportunities? Why do capable professionals doubt themselves? Why do people stay in situations that no longer serve them? Why do we sometimes know what we need to do but still find it difficult to take that step?
These questions eventually led me towards coaching.
I trained as a Certified Life Coach through Al Danah University and am continuing my professional development through the ICF pathway.
Today, I bring together my corporate experience and coaching practice to create a space where people can pause, reflect and understand themselves more deeply.
I Don't Coach by Giving You All the Answers
One of the biggest misconceptions about coaching is that a coach is there to tell you what to do.
That isn't how I see coaching.
I don't believe that someone sitting outside your life can always know what is best for you.
Instead, I see my role as helping you explore what is happening beneath the surface.
Sometimes, the issue you bring into a session is not the real issue.
A professional may come saying, “I don't know whether I should change my job.”
Through conversation, they may discover that the deeper question is actually about confidence, fear of failure, identity, recognition, or the need for external validation.
Someone may come saying, “I don't know how to deal with this person.”
The deeper exploration may reveal questions around boundaries, communication, self-worth or the way they interpret other people's behaviour.
That shift—from looking only at the situation to understanding yourself within the situation—is often where meaningful change begins.
The Three Things I Help People Develop
1. Self-Awareness
Before we can change a pattern, we need to recognise it.
Coaching creates the space to notice your thoughts, emotions, assumptions, triggers and behaviours without immediately judging them.
You begin to ask:
Why do I react this way?
What am I telling myself about this situation?
Is this actually what I believe, or something I have learned to believe?
What pattern keeps repeating in my life?
Self-awareness gives you the ability to observe yourself rather than automatically react.
2. Clarity
Many people don't necessarily lack options. They lack clarity.
When everything feels equally important, making a decision can become exhausting.
Through coaching, we work towards separating the noise from what genuinely matters to you.
What do you want?
What is holding you back?
What is within your control?
What are you willing to change?
And perhaps most importantly:
What is the next meaningful step you are willing to take?
Clarity doesn't always mean having your entire future mapped out. Sometimes, it simply means seeing your next step clearly.
3. Conscious Choice
The ultimate goal isn't to create a life where difficult situations disappear.
They won't.
There will still be difficult conversations, career uncertainty, workplace challenges, relationship struggles, disappointments and moments of self-doubt.
The difference is in how consciously you respond.
Instead of reacting automatically, you begin to create a pause between what happens and how you respond.
That pause can change everything.
You may choose to communicate instead of withdraw.

Ask for what you need instead of hoping someone will understand.
Take a calculated career step instead of remaining stuck in fear.
Or simply stop being so hard on yourself.
Coaching for Life and Leadership
My work sits at the intersection of personal growth and professional growth.
Because I don't believe the two can always be separated.
The way we lead at work is often connected to the way we understand ourselves.
Self-awareness influences leadership.
Emotional awareness influences communication.
Confidence influences decision-making.
Boundaries influence relationships.
And the ability to reflect influences how we grow.
I work with professionals, emerging leaders, entrepreneurs and individuals navigating periods of change, uncertainty or personal growth.
Some clients come with a very specific challenge.
Others simply know:
“Something needs to change, but I don't know where to start.”
Both are valid places to begin.
What a Coaching Journey Can Look Like
A coaching journey doesn't have to be about becoming a completely different person.
In fact, I often believe it is about coming closer to yourself.
You may begin with confusion and gradually develop clarity.
You may begin by constantly seeking validation and gradually learn to trust your own judgement.
You may begin by reacting to circumstances and gradually become more intentional in your responses.
You may begin by seeing problems everywhere and gradually start recognising choices.
The external circumstances may not change overnight.
But your relationship with yourself can.
And that can influence the way you experience everything around you.
Creating a Space Where You Can Think Freely
For me, coaching is also about creating a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.
A space where you don't have to have everything figured out.
Where you can say what you really think.
Where you can explore uncomfortable questions.
Where you can challenge your own assumptions.
And where you don't have to perform or pretend to have all the answers.
My intention is not to tell you who you should become.
It is to help you hear yourself more clearly.
Because very often, the answers we are searching for outside ourselves are already somewhere within us—we simply need the right space and questions to uncover them.
Finding Your Inner Compass
This belief is at the heart of The Inner Compass.
We all experience moments when external expectations become louder than our own inner voice.
Career expectations.
Family expectations.
Society's definition of success.
The pressure to achieve.
The fear of disappointing others.
And somewhere along the way, we can lose touch with what actually matters to us.
My work is about helping people reconnect with that inner compass.
Not by giving them a fixed direction, but by helping them understand their own values, choices, strengths, emotions and aspirations.
Because conscious living isn't about having a perfect life.
And leadership isn't only about leading other people.
Sometimes, the first person we need to learn to lead is ourselves.
Live consciously. Lead with love.
That is the philosophy behind my work—and the space I hope to create for every person who chooses to begin this journey with me.
