Part of Weight-Loss is Understanding Your Body's Signals

Have you ever felt like eating even though you just had afairly big meal? You may wonder, “How could I be hungry again already?”

What feels like hunger isn’t always a need for food.Sometimes you may need relaxation, time outdoors, affection, or socialinteraction. Stress, pleasure seeking, and boredom can also lead us to reachfor food when we aren’t physically hungry.

It’s also possible that you’ve been focused on the sameactivity for too long. Perhaps you need more or less physical or mentalstimulation. The first step is to pause and notice what’s happening, withoutjudging yourself.

When I feel hungry soon after eating, I take a few deepbreaths, tune into my body, and ask, “What am I needing right now?” Sometimesthe answer is food. Other times, I realize I need a break, a change of scenery,or connection with someone.

You don’t have to get the answer right every time. The moreyou practice noticing your body’s signals, the better you can understand whatyou need and how to respond.

Sending positive thoughts, healing energy, & well wishesYOUR way!
